Pampers New Baby nappies, Pampers® Baby-dry™ nappies, Baby-dry™ nappy pants, Pampers® Active Fit Nappies, Active Fit™ nappy pants, Harmonie nappies and Harmonie nappy pants, STANDARD 100 certified by OEKO-TEX®

The Pampers® New Baby nappies, Pampers® Baby-dry™ nappies, Baby-dry™ nappy pants, Pampers® Active Fit Nappies, Active Fit™ nappy pants, Harmonie nappies and Harmonie nappy pants are certified under STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. OEKO-TEX® is an independent institute that tests for the presence of over 100 undesirable substances. It is particularly demanding for products worn by babies close to baby’ delicate skin: OEKO-TEX® takes current legislation into account, but goes even further by testing for certain substances that are not yet regulated to guarantee maximum safety.

Nappies that are dermatologically tested by experts

Because baby’s skin is particularly delicate, all of our nappies are dermatologically tested under the supervision of outside dermatologists.

A 100% safe composition validated by healthcare professionals

Each component has a specific function and must help ensure performance, as well as your baby’s comfort and safety. Our toxicologists work closely with our materials suppliers and meticulously evaluate the safety of each component. Once the safety tests have been validated, clinical tests are conducted in collaboration with outside experts such as paediatricians, paediatric dermatologists and dermatologists.

“Safety is our number one priority: we design our nappies to be totally safe by using the expertise of our researchers and conducting rigorous tests controlled by outside experts from the medical world,” explains our scientific expert, Emmanuelle Bégué, who closely monitors all of the materials used in our nappies.

Clinical studies to validate the quality and safety of our nappies

For innovations like our extra absorbent channels, Pampers® conducted a clinical study to validate that our nappies are 100% safe and that they keep babies nice and dry. We have recently undertaken a very extensive clinical study including over 18,000 skin tests! It is the largest clinical study ever undertaken on infantile skin disorders and nappy changing habits. Dr. Daniel Hohl, former President of the European Society for Paediatric Dermatology, who took part in the study, confirms, “I made an in-depth examination of the safety tests conducted in Pampers diapers and I attest that Pampers® products are perfectly safe to use on baby skin.”

Experts at the heart of Pampers innovation!

Parents: Pampers® leading experts

No one knows your baby better than you, which is why the opinion of parents like you means a lot to us. Each week, over 1,200 families accompany their babies to our research centre in Germany to share their experiences on Pampers® nappies. We use the parents’ feedback to improve our nappies. “When we design a nappy, we try to put ourselves in the place of the baby. At Pampers®, we are lucky enough to be able to observe babies in our nappies every day, and gather the impressions of their parents,” explains Pampers R&D manager, Frank Wiesemann. “Gathering this information in real life situations is a very precious tool for designing products that are perfectly suited to babies. Not to mention the fact that many of us at Pampers research are parents too!”

Pampers® Air Channels: a key innovation to meet baby’s needs even better

All dermatologists agree: fresh air is essential to protecting baby’s skin and limiting the risk of nappy rash. The Pampers® Air Channels help create space inside the nappy for air to circulate freely, even when the nappy is full. This way, the skin can breathe and stay nice and dry.

The world’s tiniest nappy was born of our collaboration with neonatal nurses!

By working closely with neonatal nurses, we were able to develop the world’s tiniest nappy. In 2002, we were the first brand to design a nappy specially developed for these most vulnerable babies.

“The Preemie® range was designed to take into account that premature babies are particularly sensitive. Preemie nappies allow them to cope with these first weeks in life in the best possible conditions. These nappies are more adapted to the care needed and make the work of health professionals easier” explains Dr. Frank Wiesemann, Research & Development at Pampers®.

Our Preemie nappies gently wrap baby in Pampers’ best blanket-like softness and protects their delicate skin. They minimise disruption during sleep and change time, plus aid the healthy development of baby’s hips and legs whilst protecting their delicate skin. In the UK, our specially designed Pampers Preemie Protection nappies are readily available for all premature babies in hospitals. If you are a healthcare worker in a neonatal unit, or if your little one is currently still in the neonatal unit and in need of the right premature nappy - please ask the Unit Lead to place an order by emailing mailto:pampers.preemies@sykes.com (for Ireland use mailto:pampers.preemie@fleishmaneurope.com). Typically, by the time a baby leaves the neonatal unit for home, they are ready to move into Size 0 Pampers New Baby, which is available to purchase in all main stores. However, we understand that in some cases, your little one will leave the neonatal unit and may still need a premature nappy. So we are pleased to announce that now Pampers Preemie Protection nappies are also available to parents and families of preemie babies, free of charge, through from all Asda in-store pharmacies. Simply ask at the Pharmacy counter to receive your free packs, to find your nearest Asda pharmacy, please visit the Asda website.
