Adhesives are essential to hold the different nappy layers together to prevent leaks and to provide skin comfort. The adhesives are sealed between layers, never touching baby’s skin. At Pampers, we use safe adhesives which are certified Standard 100 by Oekotex like all the other materials that go into Pampers product design. Pampers nappies are approved by the British Skin Foundation.

While our design keeps elastane from directly touching your baby's skin, it's good to know that the elastane we use is free of natural rubber latex. We use it in areas like the leg cuffs and waistband to ensure a snug, comfortable fit and prevent leaks. This type of elastane is widely used in stretchy baby clothing, from onesies to socks, and has a long history of everyday safe use.

No, elemental chlorine bleaching has not been practice for decades. Our suppliers use either a process called Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) or Total Chlorine Free (TCF) bleaching. And both are equally safe for your baby!

The pulp in our diapers are made with either the ECF or TCF method is totally safe for your baby. 

Sodium polyacrylate is the superabsorbent material at the heart of the nappy. It locks liquid away from baby skin, keeping it dry and comfortable. Fun fact: it has high absorbing capacity and can absorb up to 30x its weight in urine! It was invented in the 80s and became a key ingredient of disposable nappies. It is proven to be safe for baby use. It is kept inside the absorbent core, away from skin. At Pampers, our super absorbent material acts very fast. It locks wetness at the heart of the nappy within seconds   to help prevent wetness from coming into contact with the skin. This helps prevent leaks and keeps baby bottom dry for up to 12hrs.

Polypropylene is used in the soft fiber layers of the nappy in contact with skin to provide comfort. Polypropylene is safe and widely used in food packaging, medical products, textiles and many other common consumer products.

Polyester fibers are used in our materials specially designed to acquire and spread wetness horizontally on the nappy, these fibers are also widely used in textiles.

Polyethylene is an essential part of our nappy design, forming the thin, protective outer layer. Its main job is to act as a reliable barrier, preventing any leaks from escaping while cleverly allowing air to circulate, which helps your baby's skin breathe. This material is incredibly common and safe, used across many products you encounter daily, from food packaging and medical supplies to beverage containers.

To help keep your baby's skin healthy and comfortable, Pampers nappies include a protective balm on the soft upper layer. This gentle, thin layer acts as a shield against wetness and irritation. We use high-quality ingredients for our balm, many of which are trusted and utilized in the pharmaceutical industry. The effectiveness of this balm is supported by clinical studies, showing it helps to reduce the severity of skin irritation, giving you peace of mind.

Yes. We use a color-changing indicator that reacts to wetness to let parents know when it’s time to change the nappy. It is used in tiny amount and never touches the skin. Most Pampers products have a wetness indicator. Check the packaging to find this feature!

Our recommendation for Pampers nappies is to use unopened packs within 3 years. Once opened, the diapers should be stored in a dry place and used within 12 months. When it comes to our wipes they indeed have an expiry date, and you can find them on the packaging and it is best to use them in 3 months after opening.

This is a natural fiber derived from wood that absorbs and channels wetness to the core of the nappy. Cellulose provides comfort as well to baby when he/she sits as it helps give a little cushion to baby's bottom. It is bleached with an Elemental Chlorine Free process. The cellulose we use comes from FSC® certified forests and other controlled sources.

Yes, absolutely. We use colorful designs and indicators to make diaper changes more fun and to show where the super absorbent parts are. The colors come from special pigments, which are widely used in many everyday items like clothes and toys. These pigments are safe, won't dissolve in water, and are very unlikely to be absorbed by your baby's skin. We've thoroughly tested them to ensure they won't irritate skin or cause allergies, and they're securely embedded in the diaper material to prevent them from rubbing off, even when wet. Pampers nappies are approved by the British Skin Foundation.
