What's Not In Pampers Nappies and Wipes

There's nothing more important to Pampers than your baby's happy, healthy development. That's why we're committed to The Pampers Safety Promise when it comes to what we include – and what we don't include – in Pampers nappies, nappy pants and wipes. All Pampers products are made from ingredients that are thoroughly tested and evaluated to be safe. The materials we use are common in baby products and safely used by millions of babies around the world, every day.

Our Safety Process: Ensuring Pampers Products are Safe and Gentle

Early in the development process of a new nappy, we select ingredients that are safe for use in a children's product. Pampers thoroughly evaluates all ingredients, materials, processes and final products in every stage of development to be safe and gentle for babies. We follow the highest, strictest global safety standards set forth by leading organisations around the world.

What We Don't Add to Pampers Products

To help answer questions we receive from parents about what's not in Pampers nappies and wipes, we've compiled a list of what we don't add*.

- Bisphenol A (BPA)

- Dioxins

- Disperse Dyes

- Elemental Chlorine

Pampers does not add chlorine to nappies and uses an elemental chlorine-free process to purify the fibres in nappies.

- Ethanol/Alcohol

Pampers nappies, pants and wipes are alcohol-free, which is commonly understood to mean free of ethanol and isopropyl (or rubbing alcohol). These types of alcohol can dry out baby’s sensitive skin.

- Latex from Natural Rubber

- Heavy metals like Lead and Mercury

- Organotins

- Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH)

- Pesticides

- Parabens (see preservatives below)

- Phenol

- Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)

- Specific Preservatives

Pampers does not use preservatives in our nappies. We carefully select preservatives for our baby wipes to keep them pure and fresh. We do not use MIT or CMIT; formaldehyde or formaldehyde releasers; parabens; quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs); and triclocarban or triclosan.

Allergens listed in the European Cosmetics Regulation in nappies and nappy pants

Pampers New Baby, Pampers Active Fit, Pampers Baby-Dry, Pampers Nappy Pants and Pampers Harmonie nappies do not contain any of the fragrance ingredients - listed in the European Union Cosmetics Regulation – which are considered more likely to cause reactions in (allergy-) susceptible people. To note, the overwhelming majority of cosmetic users will not experience any undesirable effects associated with the presence of these substances. These fragrance ingredients include: Amyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Alcohol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citral, Eugenol, Hydroxycitronellal, Isoeugenol, Amylcinnamyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Cinnamal, Coumarin, Geraniol, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Anise Alcohol, Benzyl Cinnamate, Farnesol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, Citronellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Methyl 2-Octynoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Evernia Prunastri, Evernia Furfuracea.

*Some of these substances are present in the everyday environment and therefore may be present in trace amounts in a wide range of everyday household products from nappies to drinking water.

Remember to bin your wipes and not to flush them
