All our nappies are made without:

Disperse dyes, bisphenol A (BPA), dioxins, endocrine disruptors, pesticides, organotins, PAHs, phthalates, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), VOCs, preservatives, elemental chlorine bleaching, latex (natural rubber), parabens, ethanol or alcohol, heavy metals such as arsenic, lead, and mercury, perfume allergens as defined by EU Cosmetic Regulation No 1223/2009, and many others.

Disclaimer: Remember that some of these substances are present in everyday life and therefore may be present in trace amounts of everyday household items, such as drinking water, air or dust. These can occasionally be detected using very sensitive analytical equipment, not representative of real usage conditions. What’s important to remember is that every substance has a safe threshold, and we’re committed to working against the highest safety standards. We will NEVER use an ingredient that poses a safety concern to your baby.

FAQFrequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! All Pampers products are safe. Our nappies, pants and wipes, use carefully selected and trusted ingredients that are commonly used in nappies & wipes and are safely used by millions of babies every day. All our nappies are dermatologically tested, certified according to OEKO-TEX STANDARD-100 and tested against +1,000 harmful substances and accredited by the Skin Health Alliance as safe for baby skin. Each nappy goes through thousands of daily quality checks and follows a strict four-step safety process — from sourcing trusted ingredients to independent testing and real-time monitoring on production lines. That means every Pampers nappy is designed not only to protect against leaks but also to help protect your baby’s precious skin.

  • Nappy rash (nappy dermatitis) is a common irritation that many babies experience. Despite its name, nappy rash isn’t caused by nappies. In fact, a high-quality, absorbent nappy can help protect your baby’s skin by keeping it drier for longer. Rashes usually happen when a baby’s skin is exposed too long to wetness, urine, or stool, which can weaken the skin barrier and cause redness or discomfort. Most cases are mild and clear up within a few days.

To help prevent nappy rash, you can:

    • Use super-absorbent nappies

    • Clean gently with pH-balanced baby wipes

    • Apply a protective barrier cream, if needed

These simple steps can help keep your baby’s skin comfortable and healthy.

  • Pigment-based inks are used to print fun designs, characters and to indicate different parts on the nappies. Pigments in general have a relatively large molecular weight, are not soluble in water, and are unlikely to be absorbed through the skin. They are applied only on the outside of the nappy, away from baby’s skin. Pigments are commonly used in a wide range of products, including textiles, toys, packaging materials, paper, school chalk and crayons. Pampers products are recommended by dermatologists of the Skin Health Alliance.

  • Adhesives are essential to hold the different nappy layers together to prevent leaks and to provide skin comfort. The adhesives are sealed between layers, never touching baby’s skin. At Pampers, we use safe, solvent free, non-sensitizing adhesives. Our adhesives are certified Standard 100 by Oekotex like all the other materials that go into Pampers product design. Pampers nappies are recommended by the dermatologists of Skin Health Alliance.

  • Yes. We use a color-changing indicator that react to wetness to let parents know when it’s time to change the nappy. It is used in tiny amount and never touches the skin. Most Pampers product have a wetness indicator. Check the packaging to find this feature!

  • This is a natural fiber derived from wood that absorbs and channels wetness to the core of the nappy. Cellulose provides comfort as well to baby when he/she sits as it helps give a little cushion to baby's bottom. It is bleached with an Elemental Chlorine Free process. The cellulose we use comes from FSC® certified forests and other controlled sources.

  • Sodium polyacrylate is the super-absorbent material at the heart of the nappy. It locks liquid away from baby skin, keeping it dry and comfortable. Fun fact: it has high absorbing capacity and can absorb up to 30x its weight in urine! It has been invented in the 80s and became a key ingredient of disposable nappy. It is proven to be safe for baby use. It is kept inside the absorbent core, away from skin. At Pampers, our super absorbent material acts very fast. It lock wetness at the heart of the nappy in just a few second to prevent wetness from coming into contact with the skin. This helps prevent leaks and keeps baby bottom dry for up to 12hrs.

  • Polyethylene is mainly used as a thin and protective film in the outercover to prevent leaks. It acts like a barrier that prevents wetness from passing through, while still allowing air to circulate so your baby’s skin can breathe. It is widely used in medical products which means it is carefully tested and safe for everyday contact.

  • We want to reassure you that at Pampers®, we do not use PFAS as an ingredient in our nappies. Safety is at heart of everything we do. Our nappies contain only ingredients that are carefully evaluated and demonstrated to be safe.

  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is a safety standard and an international label for textiles that was introduced in 1992. When a textile, such as clothing or a nappy carries the STANDARD 100 label, it means that is has been independently tested for harmful substances against very stringent requirements that go beyond existing national legislation. As nappies are products that are used by babies, the evaluation criteria are particularly strict. The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 criteria take current legislation into account but also tests for over 1000 harmful substances that are not yet regulated, a list that is updated every year. More information on OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 can be found here. In addition to laboratory tests, OEKO-TEX® conducts spot checks on nappies (purchased in stores and performs verifications in the factory where the nappies are made).
