Better for Baby

How we’re making life #BetterForBaby in local communities

Inspired by all of the things – both big and small – that people do to ensure that babies lives are full of love and happiness, Pampers asked you how one of five £1,000 grants would help to make life #BetterForBaby in your local communities. We were amazed by the suggestions that we received and are excited to confirm that five UK consumers have been selected to receive the grants. Read the five winning stories below, and check back for more information as they make a change in their local areas!

Lee Webster

• Meet Lee from Croydon, she’s founding a scheme to match 12 local mums with refugee parents and their children. Lee’s working with her local children’s centre to hold a launch event, run a befriending scheme and gift baby essentials to those in need.
Alex Buckmire

• Alex is supporting the Voluntary Action Harrow Co-operative in running a Pediatric First Aid course; the two-day course will train and empower nannies, childminders, nursery and pre-school workers, sport and leisure staff, crèche leaders, parents and anyone responsible for the welfare of children in the community.
Hannah Newton

• Hannah, who lives in Dover, would like to establish a local Baby Basics. Baby Basics provide lovely starter packs and Moses baskets to vulnerable women, supporting them and their babies in times of need.
Stripey Stork - Nicola

• Meet Nicola, she’s supporting Stripey Stork in Reigate. Stripey Stork collect and distribute baby essentials to local families who need them most. She’ll be using the money to update their storage and makeover their ‘bundling’ room.
Stripey Stork - Volunteers

• Finally, Lydia from Suffolk has recently started volunteering, and so has seen the incredible impact that local centers like The Lighthouse have on the most vulnerable women and children in her community. She’ll be supporting them, and helping them to continue doing the amazing work they do every day.
