Pampers SoothologyTM routine for your 4-6 month old

At this age your little one is so eager to learn everything about the world around him. As you look to start weaning at six months, the introduction of solid food will provide him the energy he needs, and may also help him sleep longer at night.

However, if he’s still waking at night he can become overtired and grouchy, and this can be hard to cope with when you’re feeling exhausted too – especially if teething is disturbing his sleep further.

Click the arrow on the right on to discover the Soothology™ routine’s four simple steps to help your baby drift off into the land of golden sleep, created with our sleep expert Wendy Dean…
The four SoothologyTM steps

Step 1: Settling time
Create a calming atmosphere for your newborn at bedtime.

Step 2: Down time
Put your baby in her cot in a way that helps her sleep through.

Step 3: Sleep time
Understand what disturbs your baby during the night, and how best to respond.

Step 4: Waking time
Use Pampers Baby-Dry nappies to help your baby get a night of golden sleep, so  you can both enjoy a brighter mornings together.

And remember...

Find your own rhythm:
It’s important to remember that there are no quick fix solutions. Routines don’t always work overnight, so persevere and adapt the routine to suit your lifestyle and your baby’s temperament. If you are finding it tough, don’t worry, you will find a rhythm that works for your little one.

Trust your instincts:
However overwhelming it feels at first, the key thing is to do what feels right. Try to listen to your baby as they start to communicate with you from very early on and soon you’ll develop your own methods that work perfectly for you and your little one.

A word from Wendy:
Every baby is different, so don’t be swayed by what’s going on with friends and their little ones. While it can be comforting to share and hear about others’ experiences, it can be daunting too. Remember that what your baby needs most is love and care, so try to relax, listen to your baby and try and enjoy these very special early days.

New Research Shows Weeing Can Wake Baby
While your baby can wee up to 12 times a night, the link between weeing and baby’s sleep is not fully understood. However, the result of new research, pioneered by Pampers, offers interesting findings.

The study has discovered that the actual motion of having a wee can potentially wake your baby up. Then as your little one wees more and more throughout the night the wetness can build and may disturb her sleep.

In response to this – and to protect your baby’s much-needed sleep – Pampers have created new Pampers Baby-Dry nappies with Extra Absorbent Zones. Specially created to provide faster absorption, the Extra Absorbent Zones are 14% wider than on previous Pampers Baby-Dry nappies, helping keep your baby dry and comfortable for up to 12 hours.

Thanks to Pampers Baby-Dry you can be sure that your baby’s much-needed sleep will not be disturbed because of a wet and bulky nappy. Following a night of golden sleep your baby will wake refreshed so you can enjoy brighter mornings together – ready to embrace the day ahead.

You can find out more about how weeing can wake your baby, and even watch a video about the ‘Pesky Alarm Clock’ in the Soothology Clock Tower.

Pampers SoothologyTM routine for your 7-12 month old

By this time you’ll have started to wean your baby onto solid foods and may be thinking about stopping night feeds. The introduction of solids will give her lots of energy for her daily explorations and could also help her sleep for longer periods throughout the night.

You may now be thinking about going back to work, or have already done so. This can be a stressful time but try not to worry; you know what’s best for you and your baby and we can help you adapt your routine.

Pampers SoothologyTM routine for your month+ old

As your little one hits the big 12-month milestone he’s touching and tasting all objects in sight as he babbles away to himself or to you. He may even be starting to experiment with his first wobbly steps. It’s an exciting time for all involved – even when he gets into mischief!

Some parents also find that at around this age their little one starts to suffer from nightmares or night terrors, which can be upsetting and tiring for you both, especially if you’ve recently gone back to work.
